The advantage of an external PSU is that it removes a heat source from within the Apple II case. The advantage of a new PSU is the reliability and endurance of a new PSU over a 40 year old one. The advantage of this unit is that it works with the II, II+, IIe
and
IIGS!
In response to the favorable comments on our external IIe power supply units, we are now offering units which work for the II, IIe, II
and
the IIGS using an included adapter cable. The main cable is 14" length and terminates in a II+/IIe connector. The IIe to IIGS adapter is 5" length.
This unit uses the exact same brand new SinPro universal PSU units that we use in our refurbished II/II+/IIe and IIGS PSU units. The SinPro units have a proven track record for reliability, stability and endurance. This unit features an ON/OFF power switch and measures approximately 7.5" x 4.25" x 2.5". The cable is approximately 14" case-to-plug and exits the case via a rubber gromet to ensure that the wires are not worn bare over time as well as to prevent undue stress pulling the cable out from the case. The unit has 4 feet, and comes with a power cord and the 5" IIe to IIGS Adapter. It is truly plug-&-play out of the box!
