Rare Coleman Canadian Brass Fount 220E Double-Mantle Lantern Dated 11/65
This lantern comes from my Coleman collection of many years and has been lit several times while camping. 220E lanterns were sold in both the US (1951-1963) and Canada
(1962-1973)
with the difference being, the Canadian model was sold in red and came with a different ventilator.
To my knowledge, Coleman never sold a red double-mantle lantern in the US. You do see this model with the red paint on the fount removed and the brass underneath polished. It makes for a beautiful lantern, just not original. I kept the Canadian flag decals on the fount to invite conversation around the campsite. They’re vinyl are easily removed.
This Coleman 220E comes with the original globe: curved “PYREX” over red Coleman parallelogram. Has the ® and the lantern image in the parallelogram. The globe is flawless. It also feature a NOS pack of 2 Coleman Silk Lite period correct mantles. This lantern is in good shape and works as it should.
