Up for sale is a Cryix Cx486DRx2 20/40, a rare processor upgrade chip for 16 & 20MHz 386 systems. The unit has been tested and is in confirmed working condition. Also included is a Cyrix Fasmath 83D87 math coprocessor, one of the fastest 80387-compatible FPU's. The Cx486DRx2 boosts performance by running at twice the original computer's clock speed (16/32 or 20/40), adding 486 instruction set compatibility, and adding 1KB of internal L1 cache. This Cx486DRx2 is compatible with any 16MHz or 20MHz 386 system, and does not require BIOS support. Instead, it uses DOS drivers. Drivers are not included but can be obtained via the internet.
