This auction is for the sockets only, not any memory chips. The sockets were purchased as new old stock from the storage of a computer store that shut down years ago. They were still in the quantity x20 "distributor's packages" when I got them. These are intended for installation directly into a motherboard. Good for replacing damaged sockets or for building custom retro/vintage projects! I have repackaged them carefully into lots of 4 for your convenience. Please note that these are not for modern computers, these will only fit SIMM sockets.

Miscellaneous Legal Notices: Vintage computer hardware may be past the intended design lifespan as designated by the orginial manufacturer. Following standard practice, any always-on battery (I.E. CMOS clock batteries) will be removed and an equivalent replacement will be separately packed for installation by the user upon reciept. Additionally, any drive heads within full width hard drives will be "parked" before shipping, and it is expected that the user understands the procedure for unparking them. Additionally, all hardware is inspected for any tantalum capacitors (always replaced to reduce the risk of explositon) as well as other  capacitors that are showing signs of bulging or leaking.
The original manufacturer may no longer exist, and service may be unavailable. Legacy and specialty hardware is typically owner-maintained with the understanding that maintence may be difficult, time consuming and expensive. Manuals, drivers and other documentation will be included for complete systems and cards as appropriate. No warranty is provided unless explicitly stated above. Components may be fragile and become electrically unstable or mechanically weaker with additional use. Magnetic media may not be readable with standard methods. All such hardware should be considered antique, collectible, experimental, or for hobby use unless specifically marked as "re-certified by Midframe LLC for critical usage".
Any complete minicomputer, mainframe, or other such system will require signature of a waiver confirming that the buyer understands the unique delivery requirements (oversized doors, freight elevators, extreme weight) as well as power and environmental requirements (raised floors, three phase power, etc).
