for Snap On MT2500 and MTG2500 scanners
This Global Cartridge v5.3 covers 1996 up to 2009. Will also cover up to 2019 when used with CAN-1B Adapter and K-20 key (both not included)
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This cartridge supports BOTH OBDII and EOBD five (5) protocols listed below. ALSO it supports the newest CAN bus Protocol. CAN bus equipped vehicles started appearing in "some" vehicles model year 2003. By model
year 2008 ALL vehicles
sold in the US
MUST
use CAN bus and
therefore you must have the CAN adapter
in order to establish communication between the scanner and vehicle.
If you are working on vehicle(s) model year range 2003-2007 and not sure if your vehicle is CAN equipped or not send us email with your vehicle details and include: Year, Model, Engine size, Trans type, Fuel type and we'll let you know.
Also there are ways to tell if your vehicle equipped with CAN by looking at your OBD-II connector.
NOTE:
This cartridge IS NOT the programmable cartridge and does scans in Generic Mode ONLY. It does not require and does not work with a troubleshooter cartridge.
